“Show me a musician who’s good at business and I’ll show you a lousy musician.” While not an original idea and not even necessarily true, music has been good this last month and as a result my work at Papillion Record Company has suffered! Here’s my December blog post — two weeks late.

The tricky part comes later when, as a performer or supportive audience member, you have to separate your ego from the moment and remember that whatever the placement, it doesn’t matter.

The music capital of Canada, you ask? In my limited experience, I would say that it’s probably Fairview, Alberta! Since I began documenting the independent music scene in the Peace Region, I’ve determined that good music lives with those who share and experience it.
